The Community Company is seeking a full-time social media manager to join our marketing/communications team and help us strengthen affinity with our customers. You’ll work closely with our VP, communications to build and execute a social media strategy from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to create and own their role, and develop with a rapidly growing company.

Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced social media manager to help us create a social strategy and engage with customers across dozens of channels. Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with VP, communications to develop a social media strategy for channel growth, customer engagement, and acquisition across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other channels
  • Learn and apply the tone of each brand to social media channels
  • Create and manage social media calendar
  • Own day-to-day strategy execution on social platforms
  • Own day-to-day customer engagement on social platforms
  • Manage KPIs — disseminate regular insights updates to the team, and optimize strategy based on data
  • Collaborate with team designers on assets as needed
  • Delegate tasks as appropriate to team assistants

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • 3 or more post-college years of professional social media management/marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Track record of successfully growing social media presence for a brand
  • Strong and adaptable writer
  • Impeccable grammar and spelling
  • Experience with social media management software
  • Experience reporting social media insights
  • Impeccable organizational skills — experience building processes for others to follow
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
  • Strong critical thinking skills that translate into intuitive ability to respond appropriately to inquiries or mentions on social channels
  • Experience with web design and/or graphic design a plus
  • Experience working remotely preferred

Salary and Benefits

  • This is a full-time, salaried position.
  • $50,000/year salary (to start) with growth opportunities based on performance
  • Optional health benefits kick in after a 60-day probationary period (company pays $375-$475/month depending on the plan selected)
  • Optional 401(k) with up to 4% company match
  • Vacation time for all major holidays, plus 2 weeks of PTO every year
  • Additional vacation time is negotiable based on individual’s performance
  • Location/Hours: This position is remote for candidates based in the United States. Candidates in the Kansas City area will have the option of occasional in-person work with our VP of communications. Candidates in the Boston area should be willing to commute to and work from our Seaport office with remote Fridays.
